The Full Edit and Interview Comeback

We love talking about trends and options in wedding films. Thats why we decided to write you about this popular option couples love to opt in for.

Fully Edited Video

This was the most popular thing to have years ago when wedding films first started.  You never had the “highlight” you might know of now today. Allot of brides ask what the full edit is all about since its starting to gain traction among the packages.

To break it down nice and simple, we’ve posted some bullet points

  • Montage of highlights in the beginning of the day

  • A full edit and break down of the ceremony with all of the camera’s put together consecutively.  Basically cutting through different cameras to put it together.

  • After that we set the photo session, cocktail together with music montaging them together kind of like we do with the highlights.

  • After the cocktail, we break down the reception leaving dancing sequences, editing the entrances and speeches.

  • Typically the full edit ends up being about 40 min to one hour long.

  • You can view an example here on YouTube

Table interviews

Guest interviews was a very popular item when wedding videos first came out not he scene. How they work is that the videographer goes to to table (usually sticking to the bridal party and family) goes to each person. Hands them the microphone and typically some words of advice and congratulations are offered to the couple.

This is a trend we never thought would make a come back.  Well long and behold it has.  Every other bride who inquires with us mentioned they want table interviews.  Usually its because they had seen it in their parents video and hence they want the same in theirs.

We’ve also noticed some prefer the look of the “classic” wedding video.  Before all of the styles went cinematic like what we see today.

What do you think might be the reasoning behind some of these trends making a comeback? Is it because its the nature of trends to come back around years later?  Or perhaps something deeper?
